What is AntiEtch®?
AntiEtch® is a professional, uv-cured stone-protection treatment designed to preserve acid-sensitive surfaces from etching and staining while maintaining the stone's natural appearance and character. AntiEtch® can be applied in different ways depending on the project. Factory-applied AntiEtch® is currently available only for honed marble. Post-fabrication or on-site application is suitable for additional stones and finishes including travertine, limestone, and dolomite.
What is the difference between factory-applied and post-fabrication AntiEtch®?
Factory-applied AntiEtch® is applied to slabs before fabrication. At this time, it is available exclusively for honed marble. Post-fabrication or on-site AntiEtch® is applied after the stone has been installed. It is suitable for marble, onyx, travertine, and dolomite in honed and polished finishes. Stone and finish suitability must be confirmed for each project.

What does factory-applied AntiEtch® cost?
Factory-applied AntiEtch® is exclusively offered by Castles Home Service for $69 per square foot, a more cost-effective alternative to traditional post-fabrication treatment, while allowing protection to be incorporated earlier in the project.
Which materials and finishes are currently eligible for factory-applied AntiEtch®?
At this time, factory-applied AntiEtch® is available exclusively for honed marble. Additional stone types and finishes may become available in the future as the factory-applied program expands.
Can slabs that have already been purchased receive factory-applied AntiEtch®?
Possibly, provided the slabs have not yet been fabricated. The slabs must be evaluated for suitability, condition, scheduling, and logistics before treatment. If the slabs are made of another material or have already been fabricated, on-site application may be a more appropriate option.
When should AntiEtch® be specified?
AntiEtch® should be considered during material selection and as early as possible in the project. For factory-applied treatment, it must be specified before the honed marble slabs are fabricated. Early planning allows the designer, stone supplier, fabricator, client, and Castles Home Service to coordinate treatment, delivery, fabrication, timing, and cost.

Is AntiEtch® maintenance-free?
AntiEtch® helps protect the stone but does not replace routine cleaning and proper care. Clients should follow the recommended care guidelines and use a pH-neutral cleaner to help maintain the stone's appearance and performance.
